The UT Horse Judging Team allows students to travel across the country to compete at the collegiate level against other universities. Students evaluate different breeds of horses in various disciplines, and give oral reasons. The team also provides students with the opportunity to meet stakeholders and professionals from all sectors of the equine industry. Members will have one full year eligibility on the senior judging team but may compete as limited individuals throughout their team membership. There are no prerequisites required to participate on the Horse Judging Team and membership is open to students of all experience levels. Students have the opportunity to register in ANSC 461 (Advanced Horse Judging) to earn course credit for their judging team participation.
